The first book on rehabilitation nursing, including a historical survey of rehabilitation and a study of the incidence of disability in the U.S. Morrissey conducted her research in association with the Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, New York University Medical Center, founded by Howard Rusk in 1950. Rusk is considered the founder of "rehabilitation medicine."
